Thank you
Thank you for being a part of the Christmas Bowl.
This past Christmas, thousands of compassionate Christians united once again for the 74th annual Act for Peace Christmas Bowl.
Across Australia, people came together through church services and events, and gave generously to provide life-changing support to people in urgent need around the world.
In Boroondara VIC, the Canterbury Council of Churches held their Carols in Canterbury, a festive community event full of music and family fun, raising funds for the Christmas Bowl.
The power of community shone brightly in Oberon NSW, where members of the Oberon Combined Churches Friendship Group came together to raise funds and hear about the work of the Christmas Bowl over a meal. Those in attendance also wrote messages of support of solidarity to the communities we serve on the Thai-Myanmar border; to show people living as refugees that they are loved and not forgotten.
And, in the Glasshouse Mountains in Queensland, the community came together for carols and a nativity drama, with children from the local primary school starring in the show. Funds raised through the event were in support of the Christmas Bowl.
These are just a few examples of the incredible ways you have shared God’s love this Christmas. The Christmas Bowl truly is a beautiful, nationwide effort of people coming together in the spirit of compassion and peace.
Thank you to all who took part in the Christmas Bowl this year, helping to create a world where everyone has a safe place to belong. Together, you have helped raise more than $1.4 million dollars to support people who have been forced from their homes due to conflict or disaster.
If you have collected donations as a church but are yet to send in your remittance form, it’s not too late!
