How We Work

The NCCA gathers together Churches and Christian communities which confess the Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour according to the Scriptures. We commit to deepen our relationship with each other and to work together towards the fulfilment of common witness, proclamation and service, to the glory of the one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

1 – 8 June 2025

At least once a year, Christians reflect on Jesus’ prayer for His disciples, expressing the hope that:

“they may be one so that the world may believe” (John 17:21).

Congregations and parishes worldwide engage in the exchange of preachers and arrange special ecumenical celebrations and prayer services. This unique experience is initiated by the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.

The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity in Australia will be observed in the week between Ascension and Pentecost.
