How We Work

The NCCA gathers together Churches and Christian communities which confess the Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour according to the Scriptures. We commit to deepen our relationship with each other and to work together towards the fulfilment of common witness, proclamation and service, to the glory of the one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Raising Peace Festival 2024

8 – 22 September 2024
Raising Peace is organising four, free, faith and peace events in September as part of its festival of online and hybrid events.

Ethics in Turbulent Times

Is the Golden Rule still relevant for our times?
Ethics in Turbulent Times, will consist of six 3-hour sessions on 6 consecutive Tuesday evenings. Discussions aim to inform and inspire thinking on some of the most challenging issues shaping our future. 
When: 10 September – 15 October 2024
Where: In-person at University of Melbourne, Parkville VIC, and online.

Ecumenical Formation
The Asian Ecumenical Institute (AEI) 2024 winds up this Saturday 17 August 2024. 
Participants have been in Chiang Mai, Thailand, training since Sunday, 21 July 2024. NCCA’s Oliver Slewa shares an update of experiences as the gathering comes to a conclusion.

Act for Peace

Building Strength, Rebuilding Lives 
Senior Development Manager at Act for Peace, Steph Lenert, travelled to Ethiopia recently to spend time with refugees who have joined a program which provides them with a holistic, sustainable, pathway out of poverty.

World Council of Churches

Solidarity visit to the Holy Land
On 7-8 August 2024, during their digital pastoral solidarity visit to the Holy Land, the World Council of Churches (WCC) supported member churches and ecumenical partners, listened to their viewpoints, amplified their messages, and emphasized peacebuilding in the region.

We are in an interesting season for news and global events. It is very hard to ignore the intensity of the reporting on international tensions, war, politics, and sport. There are times when it would be good to turn off the noise and retreat into a level of isolation.Â
