How We Work

The NCCA gathers together Churches and Christian communities which confess the Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour according to the Scriptures. We commit to deepen our relationship with each other and to work together towards the fulfilment of common witness, proclamation and service, to the glory of the one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

As we enter this Easter season, I find myself reflecting on the state of our world—on the wars that persist, the lives uprooted by conflict and disaster, and the millions of families who still find themselves without a place to call home.

Just in the past few weeks, we have seen a massive earthquake devastate Myanmar and we’ve watched on somewhat helplessly as developed nations scale back their aid, retreating from the most vulnerable people in the world who need our help the most.

These are, undeniably, concerning times. And yet, even in the darkest moments, I am continually moved by the light that shines through—your compassion, your prayers, your generous support. You stand with us as we serve displaced communities, and that solidarity brings not just life-saving humanitarian support, but dignity and hope to those who need it most.

Easter is the story of that kind of hope. It is the promise that suffering is not the end of the story, and that even from death, new life can emerge. “He is not here; He has risen, just as He said.” – Matthew 28:6

For many of the people we serve—families who have fled their homes, lost loved ones, and face uncertain futures—the message of resurrection is especially powerful. It reminds us all that renewal is possible and that love and justice will ultimately prevail.

And that is something we can place our hope in, even in the most challenging times.

This Easter, I want to thank you—from the bottom of my heart—for your care and compassion and sharing that hope. Your support is transforming lives, helping us work alongside local partners to provide a path forward for people who have been displaced. You are part of a story that echoes the truth of Easter: that compassion triumphs over despair. Your generosity and empathy are a true labour of love and in caring for humankind you’re acting for peace in the world.

This Easter, I pray your heart is filled with peace, your home is filled with joy, and you have a safe place to belong. May the risen Christ continue to guide us all in acting for peace together.

With deep gratitude and Easter blessings,
