How We Work

The NCCA gathers together Churches and Christian communities which confess the Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour according to the Scriptures. We commit to deepen our relationship with each other and to work together towards the fulfilment of common witness, proclamation and service, to the glory of the one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

In 2025 the Finding Freedom theme continues, with a focus on community.

Communities offer refugees safety, belonging and the strength to rebuild. They bring people together, showing that our differences make us stronger, more united and capable of facing challenges.
Community is where people find strength and where voices are amplified. It’s a space where everyone can feel safe, valued, and empowered to pursue their dreams without fear or judgment.
Celebrate refugees’ diverse stories
All Refugee Ambassador bookings for Refugee Week events must be made by 2 May 2025.

How can your community be a part of Refugee Week?
To support your event coordination, the Refugee Council of Australia are hosting an online panel of council staff from LGAs across Australia who annually host Refugee Week events. They’ll talk you through their event organisation process, share their tips and best practice, and inspire you to engage your own diverse communities.
