The NCCA encourages and enables its member Churches to develop their existing relationships with each other in order to visibly express the unity willed by Christ for his church, and to work together on key issues of theology, peace and justice.
Tara has developed her ecumenical skills as a long time supporter of the movement in Australia and overseas. She was ordained in Sydney in 1994, and is currently the President of the NSW Ecumenical Council.
Appointed as the General Secretary for a five year term, commencing 1 May 2009, Tara will work with member and observer Churches, manage the day to day workings of the Council, and represent it in a number of public settings.
The NCCA has a membership of 17 national Churches, including the Anglican, Catholic and Uniting Churches, 7 Eastern and Oriental Churches, and a range of Protestant Churches, the Salvation Army, and the Quakers.
