Lent begins:
When I was a Curate in Country Victoria, I learned the tradition of praying the Ash Wednesday Collect each day and along with the Collect for each Sunday in Lent.
It therefore penetrated my heart and focused the Lenten journey:

Emergency prayer for the people of Tonga
We invite you, as part of the Australian ecumenical community to pray for our Tongan brothers and sisters.
Earlier this week, Tropical Cyclone Gita devastated communities across Tonga. The category four cyclone brought destructive winds of over 233 kmph, ripped roofs off houses and caused widespread flooding.

Safe Church Training Agreement
Safe Church Awareness - presenter training 2018
The NCCA Safe Church program will be running a SCTA Safe Church Awareness presenter training in Melbourne on 23-24 March 2018.
The training is a two day program where participants will work through the 2018 SCTA Safe Church Awareness workbook with highly skilled presenters and NCCA staff.
Asian Ecumenical Youth Assembly
The Christian Conference of Asia (CCA) is providing a platform for young Christians in Asia to come together in Manado, Indonesia from 6-13 April 2018.
"Lord, send Your Light and Truth to lead us" is the theme and prayer for the Youth Assembly based on Psalm 43:3.

NSW - Disaster Recovery Chaplaincy Training
New courses opening in early 2018
The Disaster Recovery Chaplaincy Network (DRCN) is an ecumenical and multi-faith network of disaster-recovery trained clergy and ministry agents that have been responding to disasters and emergencies across NSW since 2011. The DRCN is currently coordinated by the Uniting Church in Australia (Synod of NSW and ACT).
