New Primate for Australia's Anglican Church

Anglican Church

Archbishop Geoffrey Smith

The Anglican Church of Australia has announced that Archbishop Geoffrey Smith of Adelaide has been elected as their new Primate. The new Primate took office on Tuesday 7 April 2020.

The NCCA welcomes Archbishop Smith and looks forward to working with him towards visible unity among our churches.

Former Anglican Primate, Archbishop Philip Freier, who had served in the post for almost six years, was a wonderful supporter of the NCCA and all our activities. We hold Dr Freier in our prayers as he moves on to new fields.
