Public Lectures -Save the Dates

June 2024

Rev. Prof. Dr. Jerry Pillay, the 9th General Secretary of the World Council of Churches (WCC), will be a distinguished Ecumenical guest at the National Council of Churches in Australia (NCCA) 11th National Forum in Adelaide, where he will be giving the keynote address.

Reverend Pillay is a Reformed pastor, a member of the Uniting Presbyterian Church in Southern Africa, and has previously served as the Dean of the Faculty of Theology and Religion at the University of Pretoria.

He will also be speaking at a public event whilst in Adelaide and will then travel to Melbourne and Sydney, where he will participate in public events hosted by the respective state ecumenical councils.

Details: Talk followed by panel discussion. 

SYDNEY, NSW

When: Tuesday 25 June 2024 

Time: 6:00 - 7:00 pm AEST

Where: St Stephen's Uniting Church, 197 Macquarie St, Sydney 

Hosts: NSW Ecumenical Council (NSWEC) & Uniting Church in Australia Synod of NSW/ACT

Details: Prayer service followed by light refreshments in Ferguson Hall, below St Stephen's.

NCCA MEDIA STATEMENT

On the 23 May 2024, NCCA published a Media Release on Rev. Prof. Dr. Jerry Pillay's Visit to Australia.
