Catholic Earthcare is a place and platform where the diverse voices within the church community come together in dialogue to help and co-create our shared future.
There are a wide and diverse variety of sessions, across thee successional themes of:
- ‘formation’ (our theological and moral imperative to Care for our Common Home),
- ‘foundation’ (explored with specialists in finance, economic, political and social spheres) and finally;
- ‘action’ (exploring transformative ways in which we can realise the need to care for creation).
Sessions are designed to appeal to a wide range of audiences: eco-warriors, theologians interested in the spheres of our world across which sustainability operates, faith-inspired youth, and those wanting to answer our call for action – to care for creation. There are specialist sessions in finance and economics, designed to help us create real change across our church and our community.

SEASON OF CREATION BACKGROUND
1 September was proclaimed a Day of Prayer for Creation by the Orthodox in 1989 and repeated by Pope Francis in 2015.
The season takes us through to the feast of St. Francis on 4 October. Christians of all denominations and locations are invited to participate in an ecumenical Season of Creation.
“Everything is related, and we human beings are united as brothers and sisters on a wonderful pilgrimage, woven together by the love God has for each of his creatures and which also unites us in fond affection with brother sun, sister moon, brother river and mother earth” (Laudato Si’, 9).
Visit the Season of Creation website to see how we can celebrate creation.
