Australian Domestic Violence Project Safe from the Start – listening to voices of children
Salvation Army Australia Territory have collated a range of resources including a toolkit based on current research and updated for the current pandemic conditions.
The project has developed a one-day training called Safe from the Start to guide those using the project’s resource toolkit.

Anglican Deaconess Ministries (ADM), Mercy & Justice
On 14th July 2020, the ADM announced the recipient of the “Restoring Sanctuary” grant. ADM awards the $80,000 grant to an innovative model for churches to create safety for domestic abuse survivors.
"ADM is pleased to announce that the Restoring Sanctuary Innovation Grant, of $80,000, is today awarded to Dr. Wilma Gallet and her group’s proposal....They developed a well-rounded and robust concept, rich in theology and domestic abuse understanding, shaped to support the diversity of churches in the Australian Christian community and, most importantly, victim-survivors of abuse....We are blessed to be able to support such a promising program.” Libby Sanders, the Program Manager of Mercy and Justice at ADM.

NSW Office of the Children's Guardian
The publication Implementing the Child Safe Standards: A guide for faith based organisations, is now available.
The aim of this Guide is to provide faith-based organisations with practical help to implement the Child Safe Standards and the related National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.
It gives practical tips for faith organisations and includes examples which showcase how different organisations are already implementing the Standards and how they’ve established systems to prevent, detect and respond to child abuse.

Safeguarding Leadership Introductory Session for National Church Leaders
CPSL offer this training to National Church Leaders and was piloted in partnership with National Council of Churches Australia—Safe Church Program.
This session has a particular focus on governance, culture and leadership responsibilities.

Responding to Problematic Sexual Behaviours in Children
The final two webinars of the three part series are designed to help members of faith communities gain awareness of and understand and manage problematic sexual behaviours in children.
The webinars will feature Robert Tucker. Robert is an Independent Social Work Consultant and is the Director of RGT Training and Consultancy, an independent agency in the United Kingdom specialising in sexual abuse, sexual behaviour problems and child trauma. Robert specialises in working with children, young people and their caregivers where there are concerns about sexual abuse and children’s sexual behaviour, providing assessments and intervention to children and adolescents who are victims/suspected victims of abuse along with children who display sexually inappropriate or sexually harmful behaviours.
Robert will be joining the webinars live from the UK - to facilitate Robert's participation, all sessions will commence at 8.00am AEST.
