National Christian Council of Sri Lanka

Please join us in praying for the concerns of the NCCSL.

The Heads of Churches of the National Christian Council of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) yesterday issued a statement on the current situation listing a host of issues of concern requiring urgent Government action.

Following is an extract from Saturday, 31 July 2021

Amid a further deterioration of the COVID-19 pandemic situation, the churches affiliated with the National Christian Council of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) wish to alert the nation and its political leadership to the burning needs of particularly severely affected social groups as well as certain national challenges that need urgent addressing....

The cruellest predicament has been the channelling of under-age children into domestic work in urban middle-class homes of all communities throughout the country. This uncivilised exploitation of child labour has often also seen violence against and abuse of these children....

We pray that our nation overcomes this calamity with the least possible suffering.

The NCCA will pray for these matters of concern as we hold our NCCSL bothers and sisters in faithful support and encouragement of the Holy Spirit.

The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Psalm 9:9
