Common Statement on Sacramental Life
We share with you another joyous occasion. The signing of this joint document on 24 November 2017 by Cardinal Kurt Koch and His Beatitude Mar Meelis Zaia, co-chairs of the Joint Committee for Theological Dialogue between the Catholic Church and the Assyrian Church of the East.
The Common Christological Declaration of 1994 and the newly signed Common Declaration on Sacramental Life now make the way clear for the last phase of this theological dialogue, on the constitution of the Church.
We rejoice with both the Assyrian Church of the East and the Catholic Church as they open the way to be able to celebrate the Eucharist together.
