Short film Justice for Murdered Children launched
The film has been made as part of the Make West Papua Safe campaign which targets foreign government aid to the Indonesian police and military.
A small group of committed people travelled to the Paniai highland of West Papua in April 2018 and made the film. The film is about the killing of five school children by the Indonesian police and military in Enarotali on Dec 7 and 8, 2014. It features the fathers of the children speaking about their search for justice in the face of ongoing intimidation.
Justice for Murdered Children was launched on December 7th, the eve of the fourth anniversary of the killings. The Degei, Youw, Yeimo and Gobai families, the Kingmi Church of Papua’s Office for Justice and Peace, the Catholic Commission for Justice and Peace of the Archdiocese of Brisbane, Tapol, West Papua Update and Pasifika are all behind the film.
