"Gender Based Violence" Sector Forum (refugees & migrants) is a sector forum on form of gender based violence, including modern day slavery, female genital mutilation, dowry abuse and forced marriage.

About this Event

JRS Australia (JRS) in collaboration with Settlement Services International (SSI) would like to invite you during the 16 Days of Activism against gender based violence for a sector forum exploring 'complex' forms of violence. These forms of violence disproportionately impact culturally and linguistically diverse communities, including migrant, refugee and asylum seekers.  

A panel of experts in the field to discuss forms of violence in Australia. This will be  an opportunity to learn about different forms of GBV, including female genital mutilation, dowry abuse, forced/early marriage and modern day slavery with a short Q&A at the end.
