New research
Understanding digital parenting experiences of refugee and migrant groups
Recent research conducted by eSafety explores the lived digital parenting experiences of migrants and refugee groups.
Parents and carers in the study told the eCommissioner they use a range of practices to keep children safe online. These include setting boundaries, supporting technical online safety strategies, and having open conversations. They also reported digital parenting challenges common to all families, including things like balancing work and family life and negotiating increased independence as children become teenagers.
Download the summary report to learn more about these experiences and how online safety interventions can be accessible, engaging, and non-stigmatising for these communities.
