Come – Everything is Ready!

The World Day of Prayer 2019 host country this year is Slovenia. The theme, prepared by the women, is “Come – Everything is Ready!” and the Bible study text is Luke 14: 15-24.

Slovenia is located in Central Europe and is one of the smallest countries in that region. There are four major natural units: the Alps, the Pannonian Plains, the Dinarides, and the Mediterranean Area. Its highest mountain is the Triglav. Slovenia has two million inhabitants and the official language is Slovene, with Hungarian and Italian being co-official languages.

"The World Day of Prayer is a global ecumenical movement led by Christian women who welcome you to join in prayer and action for peace and justice. It is run under the motto “Informed Prayer and Prayerful Action,” and is celebrated annually in over 170 countries on the first Friday in March. The movement aims to bring together women of various races, cultures and traditions in a yearly common Day of Prayer, as well as in closer fellowship, understanding and action throughout the year."

The World Day of Prayer City Service for 2019  Friday 1 March 2019,10-11am at St Peter’s Cathedral, 27 King William Rd, North Adelaide
The WDP South Australian Committee invites you or your Representative to attend the city service. Speaker, The Rev Canon Jenny Wilson, will address the theme ‘Come – Everything is Ready’.
