Hope out of Loss
those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength:
they shall rise up on wings like eagles,
they shall run and not be weary,
they shall walk and not faint,
Isaiah 40:31
The following is a short selection of resources that you may find useful for your own prayers and reflections during this season of Lent that commences for the Western Churches on 26 February 2020.
'We will Rise'
A Lenten Resource, developed in response to the bushfires and trauma across Australia:
MediaCom Education and Ex-Moderator of the Uniting Church SA, Rev Sue Ellis have prepared a 46-day devotional study for Lent that focuses on building hope out of loss. The devotionals focus on Christ as a response to disaster and destruction. Prayers and stories to help people turn to Jesus for hope, healing, comfort and courage to face the future.
The booklet will be available after 14 February and is also available for pre-order from MediaCom Education now: http://www.mediacom.org.au/bookcase/rise.html and can also be downloaded online from the MediaCom Education website from the 14th of February.
The Uniting Church SA Moderator and ex-Moderator will launch ‘We Will Rise’ at Balhannah Uniting Church at 4pm on 14 February, 2020. Please come along to the launch event if you are able. Drinks and nibbles will be available to share.
