A Prayer for this time
Your Word rings in our ears that in your Spirit we are led into all truth (John 16:13).
A PRAYER FOR SUNDAY.
Creator God
We carry your gift of life and your goodwill into this new day.
Each of us and all of us together.
A new day into which we bring the remembrances of the past week and our hopes for the days ahead.
Our remembrances are personal and we bring them now into your gracious presence. Our prayers are especially for loved ones, be they nearby or faraway... Our prayers too are for those who ask our prayers. Then there are the personal prayers of our own hearts as well.
Our remembrances are also national and international.
So we pray as regards COVID19 and everything related to the pandemic.
We also pray as regards these next days for the United States. Our prayers are for the peaceful transition to President Biden and Vice President Harris. Our prayers are for the careful renewal of a respectful, truthful democracy. Our prayers are for those who need their optimism rekindled by quiet, wise leadership.
Your Word rings in our ears that in your Spirit we are led into all truth ( John 16:13).
As we look ahead in all these circumstances we seek to be attuned to your Spirit.
We pray you will fill us with your beautiful Spirit so we walk these next days by the Spirit and make our best contribution, always.
In Jesus Holy Name we pray, AMEN.
