Harmony for Humanity: Unity in Diversity
Join in, have a voice in shaping our multi-religious, multicultural society.
When: Sunday 19 August 2018, 2:00 - 5:00pm
Where: SGI Australia, 3 Parkview Dr, Sydney Olympic Park, NSW 

Youth PoWR will bring together hundreds of young people from diverse religions and spiritualties —Aboriginal, Baha’i, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism and Sikhism—and secular society to address the theme of Harmony for Humanity: Unity in Diversity.

Youth PoWR:

  •  by young people – the members of the Coordinating Committee are young representatives from different religions who have been planning together since early in the year
  • with young people – the speakers and performers will be young people
  • for young people – the participants are young people from diverse religious and cultural backgrounds across Sydney

The speakers will address the central theme from their different religious perspectives. Youth participants will engage with each other on the practical implications of thetheme for today’s society. They will have a voice and vote on key issues influencing the youth of today.

The formal deliberations will be interspersed with cultural entertainment, including song, spoken word poetry and dance, expressing the need for harmony in today’s society. Food will be provided allowing greater social interaction.

Cost: Your donation of $10 is greatly appreciated.

Rabbi Bob Kaplan is the founding Director of The Center for Community Leadership the Intergroup and Community building division of the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York. He advises government and NGO’s across New ork on inter-group relations, coalition and capacity building, conflict resolution, leadership development and mentoring, interracial/inter-religious relationships and combating hate crimes.
