The 2021 Ecumenical Prize - winner to be announced 17 July
The Ecumenical Jury awards films according to several criteria. In addition to artistic quality, the jurors insist the screen productions be anchored in the Gospel message.
The six members of the Jury for the Ecumenical Prize have arrived in the French Riviera for the world famous cinema event at Cannes.
This joint and international jury award a prize that "distinguishes works that show both artistic and human qualities, that reflect the deepness of the soul and the complexity of the world," according to an official statement.

The Ecumenical Jury
Each year, the Ecumenical Jury is invited by the Cannes Film Festival to award a prize to a film in the official competition. The jurors are members of one of the Christian Churches open to interreligious dialogue.
At the end of the Festival, the Jury presents its prize in the presence of official guests, the press, and award-winning directors. Since 1974, the Ecumenical Jury has awarded 47 prizes and 57 special mentions.
Works are awarded for both artistic and human qualities that "probe the depth of the soul and the complexity of the world, which highlight justice, human dignity, respect for the environment, peace, solidarity, reconciliation ... of the values of the Gospel widely shared in all cultures."
