The theme for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity in 2022 was chosen by the Middle East Council of Churches. More than ever, in these difficult times, we need a light that shines in the darkness and that light, Christians proclaim, has been manifested in Jesus Christ.

WCC resources are now available on the WCC website with more information here

Christians from Lebanon, Syria and Egypt have developed the local draft for the resources. It was finalised by an international group representing the by the Roman Catholic Church’s Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity and the WCC’s Faith and Order Commission. The resources include an ecumenical opening prayer service, biblical reflections and prayers for eight days, and other elements of worship.

Please note:

This is the international version of the text.

Australian resources are adapted from this text and prepared in early 2022. They will be available on the NCCA website from around March/April 2022.

The Australian Week of Prayer for Christian Unity will take place between Ascension and Pentecost [29 May - 5 June 2022].

His Holiness Catholicos Baselios Marthoma Paulose II

Both the World Council of Churches and the Christian Conference of Asia expressed their sadness at the passing of His Holiness. We pray for the Community of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church in India and Australia.
