Safe Church Program 

NCCA Safe Church Program Presenter Training

A Full-day Presenter Training to become an endorsed Safe Church Awareness Workshop presenter with the National Council of Churches in Australia (NCCA) Safe Church Program.

Morning tea and lunch will be provided.

Please note: You must have previously attended an NCCA Safe Church Awareness Workshops and have filled in a Presenter Application Form available at www.tinyurl.com/SCPapplication

The training day covers:  

  • who the NCCA is and why we run these workshops,
  • training and discussions around the presentation of each of the four sessions of the workshop including state-specific content,
  • running grooming awareness activity
  • adult learning styles,
  • ecumenism and it's important role in these workshops, 
  • presentation tips, 
  • admin and logistics.

NB: This training day will be focused on the requirements for the state of New South Wales. Presenter Training days in other Australian states and territories are also being held through the year.

Online and in-person inclusion conference

Welcoming and Inclusive: Actions for Churches in response to people with disabilities and mental health issues 

Too many people with disabilities and mental health needs still face abuse, neglect, exploitation and discrimination. People with disabilities and mental health issues still struggle to find churches that make them feel welcome and fully included. 

The conference will provide opportunities to explore how congregations can be more welcoming and inclusive, and also ways in which churches can be part of advocacy for further reforms by governments.
