2nd National Conference

'Earth Wisdom: Hope in Action’.

You are invited to participate in the Australian Religious Response to Climate Change - ARRCC's second national Conference

Register now! Come and meet like minded, faith-inspired climate activists. 

ARRCC is keen for as many people as possible to attend, from every kind of faith and spiritual community. It is intended that participation to be as diverse as possible, with Saturday evening devoted to multi-cultural sharing of music and poetry. A prayer room will be available all weekend for those whose faith requires them to pray regularly. 

When:  the weekend of 4 – 6 October, 2024

Where: Santa Sabina College, 90 The Boulevarde, Strathfield- Sydney NSW

Speakers include:

  • Professor Anne Poelina, Nyikina Warrwa woman, human & earth rights advocate;
  • Prof. Mehmet Ozalp, Head of Centre for Islamic Studies and Civilisation;
  • Dr James Whelan, a climate action strategist;
  • Sophia Walter, Solutions Team at Climate Action Network Australia; 
  • Tim Buckley, Director of Climate Energy Finance.   

Why:

  • Meet like-minded people of faith who have been taking action on the climate crisis and take the opportunity to hone skills and capacity to do this more effectively.
  • Time will be set aside for shared prayer and meditation.
  • There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and contribute, and breaks in which people can network with each other. 

Catering:

By the House of Welcome, a social enterprise creating employment pathways through fusion-inspired global cuisine. All meals and morning and afternoon teas will be provided, except breakfasts. Food will be vegetarian or vegan.
