Anniversary of 19th July policy

11 years too long

You are invited to attend an online event featuring Behrouz Boochani, writer and former Manus detainee and Benham Satah, a social worker and former Manus leader.

19 July marks more than a decade of the Australian Government’s inhumane offshore detention policy. How did we get here, and where do we go next?

Eleven years ago, a tragedy in Papua New Guinea was created by the Australian Government, yet the Government says it is not responsible for refugees. 48 people and their families still remain in PNG. They came to seek asylum in Australia – we cannot just leave them behind.

When: Saturday 20 July 2024

Time: 6:00pm (NSW, VIC, QLD, TAS) 5:30pm (NT, SA), 4:00pm (WA)
