NAIDOC Week: 2-9 July 2017

Our Languages MatterNAIDOC logo x120

The importance, resilience and richness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander languages will be the focus of national celebrations marking NAIDOC (National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee) Week this year.

In the first week of July we celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, culture and achievements and recognise the contributions that Indigenous Australians make to our country and our society. This is the week Australians seek to increase awareness of the status and treatment of Indigenous Australians in the wider community.

Visit the NAIDOC website to found out more

Events are being held all around Australia. To join in the celebrations, view the NAIDOC events calendar to find an event near.
