The Australian Refugee Action Network (ARAN) invites registrations from people of faith to attend the 2nd National Conference
The conference is open to anyone interested in refugee activism and advocacy.
When: Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 July
Where: ANMF Building 535 Elizabeth Street Melbourne VIC
ARAN know that many people in faith communities are deeply concerned about the way our current policies deny the humanity and rights of refugees and people seeking asylum, and are willing to mobilise to bring about change.
A special invitation has been extended to faith groups to attend the Conference. There will be a Faith Communities’ networking workshop to be held on Saturday 7 July at 3pm which many people may wish to attend. It will feature Father Rod Bower of Gosford Anglican Church, Rev Alex Sangster of Love Makes a Way and Caz Coleman from the Australian Churches Refugee Taskforce will give a short presentation on the work of the ACRT in the faith communities’ workshop session. Rev Roberta Hamilton will talk about how the faith network in Canberra has been effective in mobilising congregations. On Saturday evening there will be a Conference dinner consisting of a Tamil Feast.
