19 - 25 June 2022
2022 Theme – Healing
Hit the reset button on how we behave towards one another. The importance of human connections has been underscored by the pandemic and such lessons can help us in so many ways.
We can draw upon shared hardship to heal wounds, to learn from each other and to move forward. Healing can occur through storytelling, through community and also through realisation of our intrinsic interconnectedness as individuals.
In 2022, organisations and individuals are encouraged to utilise the Refugee Week website for Refugee Week resources and events that will facilitate this healing and subsequent rejuvenation.
Refugee Week is a time for Australians to raise awareness about the issues affecting refugees and celebrate the positive contributions made by refugees to Australian society. Refugee Week coincides with World Refugee Day (20 June).
• Host a Refugee Week event online or in-person – see full calendar of events or register your own here
• Become a Refugee Week Amplifier – share videos, graphics, news articles during Refugee Week to help us spread the word – sign up here to become an Amplifier and receive content on a regular basis.
• Display Refugee Week posters – Find the Refugee Week poster on the resources page Display at your workplace
• Host a ‘Share a meal, Share a story…’ event - Gather your friends and family together to share a special meal. With recipes and stories coming from Refugee Week Ambassadors, this is the perfect way to reconnect with people and raise much needed funds for the Refugee Council. Arrange a morning tea or Arrange a film screening
