Bigger, better and bolder: A new buzz for the In One Voice Jewish street festival
11am-5pm, Sunday 18 March - Selwyn Street, Elsternwick
Concert starts at noon. YID! the 22-piece big band, which premiered at last year’s festival, will be centre stage. YID! takes centuries old Yiddish songs and melds them with Duke Ellington’s 1930s’ big band sound, 1960s’ free jazz and late 1970s’ New York avant-garde funk.
In One Night will be held in the industrial surrounds of the former ABC sound stage on the evening of Saturday 17 March. Tickets available online
