The Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Development Fund

The Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Development Fund (ATSIDF), of the National Council of Churches in Australia, is a fund set up to assist Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Peoples by giving small, usually one-off grants for community development projects. The projects are funded through the NCCA annual Martung Upah Appeal.
How to Apply
ATSIDF applications must be made on the appropriate form. Please read the guidelines before making your submission. Please note that grants over $5,000, or for recurrent funding, will not be considered. If you have any questions, please contact the NCCA on (02) 8259 0800 prior to submitting your application.

2022 Close the Gap report
The Close the Gap campaign has called for an urgent investment in community-led health services to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across the country.
The 2022 Close the Gap Report: Transforming Power – Voices for Generational Change has 12 recommendations for large-scale transformation and systemic reform to avoid further preventable deaths and protect Indigenous health, wellbeing, culture, and Country.
These include the full implementation of the Uluru Statement from the Heart and 2020 National Agreement on Closing the Gap plans, investment in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led data development at the local level and the development of an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-led research agenda for health and wellbeing, with a particular focus on the impacts of systemic racism in health systems.

Palliative care packages
The National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Catholic Council (NATSICC) has launched the palliative Care Packages Project - an initiative designed to support all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people deemed palliative, regardless of religion or beliefs.
The Packages have been designed to address aspects of the end stages of life that are important to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
