Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay was installed as the ninth WCC General Secretary on 17 February 2023. He comes from the Uniting Presbyterian Church in Southern Africa

 “We need to stand where God stands with the poor, wretched, neglected, and suffering in the world,” he said. “The question is, as member churches: Where will you stand?” Pillay reflected, in his message....“The church ought to live to fulfil the purpose of God.”

The NCCA extends a warm welcome to Prof Pillay and looks forward to continued friendship with the WWC as we work together for the unity of the Church.
