Australian Churches Refugee Taskforce

New Refugee Integration and Settlement program

Calling community groups to apply for the Community Refugee Integration & Settlement Pilot (CRISP).

This is an opportunity for groups of everyday Australians (including those in regional communities) eager to put their hands up to welcome and support refugees to settle in their communities from ‘day one’ of their Australian journey and provide them with practical resettlement and integration support, in line with other community sponsorship programs operating successfully around the world.

CRISP are now accepting applications from local groups wishing to be part of this program. The application process has two phases:

Phase 1 (Intention to Apply) - we ask that your group’s coordinator complete an initial ‘Intention to Apply’ - this is quick and easy and just lets us know about the existence of your group and how to get in touch.  While this is happening, each member of your group should start gathering their background checks (National Criminal History Check and Working With Children Check or equivalent).

Phase 2 (Group and individual details) - After we receive your ‘Intention to Apply’ we will send you:

a. A ‘Group Application Form’ where we ask for more detailed information about the nature and capacity of your group to welcome and support the settlement of a refugee household in your area - completing this will require a bit of thinking as a group

b. An ‘Individual Group Member Form’ for each member of your group to complete with their personal information and submit copies of their background checks

If you’d like to welcome and support a refugee family arriving in Australia in 2022 apply now!

Submit Phase 1 (Intention to Apply) of the CRISP application at the button below.

Apply here

As noted above, CRISP will need further details about your group and group members by the end of May to help you prepare and match you with a family arriving in the second half of 2022 - so don’t wait, apply now!
