Inspiring Courage to Act and Adapt in a Climate Emergency
NCCA President, Bishop Philip Huggins will join with representatives of several international groups as a guest panellist at this event to be held alongside the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP25) to be held in Madrid, Spain on 3 December 2019.
The panel discussion will look at implementing the Paris Agreement in solidarity, compassion, and with policies that respect and protect rights, including human rights and Indigenous Peoples rights. It aims to explore ways to transform lives, communities, politics, and economics in the global effort to mitigate, adapt and foster resilience. Each of the panellists have been chosen to represent an essential voice in facing in facing climate change – the scientist, the policy maker, the international organisation, the academic, the civil society, Indigenous Peoples and faith voices.
The panel discussion will be held on Tuesday 3 December from 4:45pm and is co-hosted by Franciscans International, the World Council of Churches, Brahma Kumaris, Quaker Earthcare Witness, and Quaker United Nations Office.

Panellists have been asked to "speak personally and from the heart, on the theme of courage to act and adapt in a climate emergency."
