Eddie Jaku OAM will be honoured at this year’s commemoration, with the theme Broken Glass, Unbroken Spirit. On 9 November 1938, Eddie returned home from boarding school to an empty house. At dawn, Nazi soldiers burst in, Eddie was beaten and taken to Buchenwald. That night was the onset of the horrors to come for Eddie and the Jewish people of Europe.
