Appointment of a new General Secretary

The NSW Ecumenical Council has appointed a new General Secretary who will start on Monday 6 November 2023.

His name is David Rose and he will work three days per week.

David comes to the Council from Ireland, where until very recently, he was the general secretary of the AMRI, the Association of Leaders of Missionaries and Religious of Ireland, a membership organisation of 150 religious and missionary congregations in Ireland. Among other positions that David has held, he was the Deputy CEO of Australian Catholic Social Justice Council in the 1990s.

David holds a number of academic qualifications, the last one a MPhil in Catholic Theology with a dissertation on the ecclesiology of Cardinal Leon Josef Suenens, who was a pioneering ecumenist in the 20th century.
