Holding the Light

You are warmly invited to join this Ecumenical Service of Lament, remembering Victims and Survivors of Family & Domestic Violence.

‘Holding the Light’ , now in its ninth year, will be held this year at Wesley Church Melbourne, VIC.

It is held within the Christian tradition and is open for anyone to engage in a period of quiet, lament, and prayer/reflection on the tragic results of violence and in hope for a better future for our communities.

This service is held with the aim to stand in solidarity with victims survivors of domestic violence, and to remember those who have been killed as a result of domestic violence in Australia. It takes place during the UN’s 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence and is an opportunity for leaders, staff and volunteers of social services to gather with others through the community in a time of lament, reflection and prayer.
