2024 Advent Calendar

Advent is just around the corner – let us care for and celebrate our God-given planet.

Sr Liz Wiemers SGS created the 2024 Advent Calendar with Creation and the Universe Story in mind.

Catholic Religious Australia & The Ecology Alliance Committee would like to share the 2024 Advent Calendar created by Sr Liz in early October 2024. Sadly, Liz died unexpectedly on 13 October 2024. She will be greatly missed by her Good Samaritan Sisters, many colleagues, friends and associates, and her family.

Sr Liz Wiemers SGS created the Advent calendar and sent it to the Good Sam Sisters of the Queensland/Japan Area on 3 October 2024 writing:

I know Advent is in the distance.  Recently, inspired by some very well-used commercial Advent calendars for kids, I went looking to see if there was such a thing that might be uplifting for adults.  Not so.  At least I couldn’t find what I was looking for.  Well, why not make my own? …. an adventure I embarked upon with Creation and the Universe Story in mind. Two days later, the attached was there on my computer.  It was originally put together to help me each day of Advent.  I’ve shown/shared it with a few friends.  Guided by their response, I’m willing to share the outcome of my ‘adventure’ with you. I hope that being a PDF document makes this accessible for you.

Feel free to make use of it or not; to use it as you wish.  I just ask that if you use all or part of it for ‘outside’ purposes that the origin is acknowledged.  Just know that it’s simply my attempt and that many could do the same ‘more professionally’ etc. (Sr Liz Wiemers SGS ).
