New from the eSafetyCommissioner

In November, the eSafetyCommissioner focuses on tools and events that help address the needs of culturally and linguistically diverse families, as well as resources for safe gifting this holiday season.

Communication with culturally and linguistically diverse families 

Join the Commissioner for a joint webinar with Ethnolink, where new resources and share insights on supporting culturally and linguistically diverse communities will be introduced.

What to expect:

  • Introduction to Protecting our Children from Child Sexual Abuse Onlinea new animated video series developed by eSafety in partnership with Ethnolink. These videos, now available in multiple languages, provide culturally sensitive guidance for culturally and linguistic diverse families on preventing online harm.
  • Insights into the collaborative development process, with Ethnolink’s expertise in reaching culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
  • Strategies for effectively engaging culturally and linguistically diverse parents and carers on sensitive topics

eSafety offers resources in up to 28 languages, covering our reporting schemes, guidance for parents, carers and educators, and basic digital skills through the Be Connected program for older Australians. These materials help ensure that families from all backgrounds can access essential online safety tools and information.

Young Children in Digital Society:

New Online Hub for educators

A new online hub, bringing together evidence-based resources and information for early-childhood educators, is now live, providing access to best-practice resources in one free-to-access location.

eSafety was proud to contribute to this landmark four-year research project, Young Children in Digital Society, which looked at how to engage, educate and entertain children safely in the digital world. The project has also helped guide eSafety's Early Years Professional Learning modules, now updated based on findings from this project.
