Rosh Hashanah 2024

Shanah tovah!

NCCA sends warmest wishes to the Jewish community as they celebrate their new year festival.

Rosh Hashanah is the New Year in Judaism.

“We echo the words of the WCC General Secretary’s greeting to all Jewish people all over the world to remain committed ‘to justice, reconciliation, and unity in the shared responsibility of all faiths to promote the well-being of the world,”  says Rev John Gilmore, President of NCCA.

The biblical name for this holiday is Yom Teruah. It is the first of the High Holy Days, as specified by Leviticus 23:23–25, that occur in the late summer/early autumn of the Northern Hemisphere.

Date: 2 October 2024 - 4 October 2024
