Help beat the drum on social media
If you are on social Facebook or Twitter/X, please help build a social media drumbeat. Activity on social media in the lead up to the Week of Action makes it more likely that journalists will be interested when they start receiving the media release.
Tips:
- If you have a banner, please take a photo of it - perhaps with a community or worship group - and post it on your Facebook and Twitter/X pages.
- Use hashtag #Faiths4Climate each time.
- Tag decision makers on your Facebook post. Please tag the Prime Minister, using @AnthonyAlbanese, and the Leader of the Opposition, using @PeterDutton Tags vary according to where you live, and there are also different tags when on Twitter / X. See here for more on tagging.
BANNERS
The Uniting Advocacy team have banners they’re giving away to Uniting Churches in NSW and ACT. They’ve ordered 60 of them and they are going out the door pretty fast. They’re looking for Uniting Churches and other UC agencies that can commit to hanging them outside their building by 14 September.
There are five messages to choose from, and we think they really complement our ones:
- Killing the Planet is Against Our Religion
- Climate Justice Leave No-one behind
- Climate Action Now! For Our Children’s Sake
- Let’s Build a Better, Cleaner, Fairer Climate Future
- Climate Justice! We Stand with Our Pacific Neighbours
These banners are free of charge for Uniting Churches in NSW and ACT.. To order one, or to find out more, contact Dharshini Perera - This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
How much time is left to order a banner?
Time is running out, but there is still time to place your orders! Here are the number of business days it will take for a banner to arrive in your part of the country. Ideally, we would like banners to go up by the start of the week of action, which is September 14th. However, it does run until the 24th and we would still be delighted with banners that went up even as late as the 24th. We just want those banners up!
Location Business days from date of ordering to arrival:
- Brisbane 2 to 4
- Sydney 2 to 3
- Melbourne 2 to 4
- Adelaide 3 to 4
- Perth 5 to 6
- Newcastle 2 to 4
- Regional QLD, VIC or NSW Up to 4 or 5
- Regional WA 7 to 9
