Movement for the Ordination of Women (MOW)
Lead Like a Woman - Celebrate women's experiences in Christian ministry.
MOW invite registrations from a broad ecumenical range of participants (female and male) to attend their 40th Anniversary National Conference.
While many think that the work of MOW is over, given the number of women deacons, priests and bishops now serving with distinction in the Anglican Church of Australia, it’s not the case. There are still dioceses that limit or refuse to acknowledge women’s ordained ministry and there’s still a need to support women in lay and ordained leadership, ensuring their gifts are recognised and respected. And not only in the Anglican church.
The conference will be bringing an outstanding collection of speakers to Brisbane to explore women’s experiences in Christian ministry, to understand problems they might face, particularly in relation to sexual violence in the church, and to build national and international networks that will support them in their religious and spiritual lives long after the conference has concluded.
