Micah Women Leaders Network

Safer World for All Electorate Lobbying campaign

You can get involved with the electorate lobbying campaign, coordinated by the Micah Women Leaders Network (The Network or Micah).

Can you meet with an MP?

The Safer World For All campaign is organising meetings in local electorates with Members of Parliament across Australia.

As the election draws closer, Micah are preparing to organise groups of Christian leaders to meet with their MP and emphasise the need for Australia to be a generous nation during these challenging times.

The Network team has been working on a target list of MPs which you can see here. CAN YOU HELP?

If your electorate appears in this list and you are interested in joining a meeting The Network would love to hear from you!

Micah already have many who have jumped on board but there are a few more spaces to fill.

To get involvedFill out this brief form and someone will be in touch on the next steps. Particularly if your MP is on the target list and you'd like to join the meeting!

The Network are aiming to host these meetings in local electorates between 15 October - 15 November this year.

Micah will train you over Zoom with others in the group and provide you with all the support and resources you need.

This action will create significant momentum across the country as together we advocate for a #SaferWorldForAll.

It has been just over four weeks since The Network were in Parliament for the Micah Women Leaders Delegation.

Much has happened and there are key ways you can get involved to spread the word about the Safer World For All campaign.

You may have seen the delegation recap video on social media. Please get the word out by sharing this!

Biblical Advocacy

Many Christians are nervous about advocacy, thinking it is divisive and has nothing to do with faith, worship and evangelism. Yet evangelism itself is simply advocating for the reign of God and inviting people to surrender to the rule of Jesus and to worship God.

More generally, advocacy is speaking up and out in the name of the God of Jesus.

You can see advocacy throughout the Bible, in the Safer World For All Theology Paper Tim Costello unpacks what the Bible has to say about our role as advocates for global justice.
