"We are living in dangerous and anxious times. The need for peace-makers is vivid." Bishop Philip Huggins, President of the National Council of Churches in Australia (NCCA) declares in a statement released to the Media on Thursday 5 September 2019.
In the Media Statement, Bishop Huggins calls upon churches across Australia to open their doors on the morning of 21 September, International Day of Peace, to facilitate prayer and meditation.
In the statement Bishop Huggins says:
"Peace-making requires practical service, advocacy and research. Peace-making means making this the era of dialogue rather than that of violent confrontation."
