Our Churches - Uniting Church in Australia
Is Easter's message still being heard or does the church need to pull a rabbit out of its hat?
One of the joys of an extra-long weekend is having the time to catch up on news and information from our member churches. One in particular stands out as being relevant across the greater churches and reflects on our faith, one that is grounded in the resurrection. Is the Church to blame for society turning a deaf ear to this message?

Passing on the Light
‘Passing on the Light’ is a ceremony that participants in the EAPPI program, (Ecumenical Accompaniment Program in Palestine and Israel) partake in when one team of Ecumenical Accompaniers (EAs) hands over to the next team. It is a symbolic affirmation of the role the outgoing team played in the Holy Land and the hope they carry with them to their countries of origin. By receiving the light the new team agrees to walk in the light with the people of Palestine and Israel, offering kindness, hope, patience and love.
Message from the President
Palm Sunday recalls Jesus' somewhat solitary walk.
There is much shouting of hosannas and waving of hands but no real understanding of what is going on. Life, death and eternity are being integrated. That is what is going on.
