Australian Government Budget 2021-22 |
12 May 2021 The Australian Churches Refugee Taskforce notes that refugees and people seeking asylum are no better off from the budget with the Australian Government continuing to invest in offshore and onshore detention. “It seems crazy that we are continuing to pay millions more for detention rather than providing meaningful solutions,” said Rob Floyd, Chair of the Churches Refugee Taskforce. “And there is the absence of any new reforms to the community sponsorship program where church groups have put their hands up as partners,” he added. President's reflection
“A CLIMATE OF THE HEART: ONLY RELATEDNESS CAN SAVE US”
Sometimes the title says it all!.... Who could dispute that a greater expression of a universal and unconditional love is needed?
Please pray for India and Bangladesh
The NCCA has received prayer requests from the National Councils of India and Bangladesh.
We ask that Australian churches take a moment to reflect and pray with us for the people of these countries in the midst of the COVID crisis.
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10

President's reflection
“ABIDE IN ME AS I ABIDE IN YOU”. (John 15:1-8)
"Beloved, since God loved us so much, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God lives in us, and God’s love is perfected in us.” 1 John 4
Pascha prayers for the Orthodox Churches
Christ is risen. Indeed, He is risen.
“I Am the Resurrection and the Life” (John 11:25)
The Orthodox churches celebrate Pascha (Easter) this coming Sunday 2 May, 2021. The NCCA prays for the Eastern and Orthodox church communities as they celebrate the Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ over the coming days.
President's reflection
“PEACE BE WITH YOU”: THE RISEN JESUS IN OUR MIDST.
In this Easter season we not only remember the way Jesus convinced those first disciples of his resurrection … but we experience that same peace as we gather together.
The Risen Jesus in our midst continues to sustain and guide us.
