Since our last newsletter, our activity has been diverse and enriching.

During last week, I travelled to Chiang Mai, Thailand for a regional consultation organized by the Christian Conference of Asia. Towards Revitalising the Ecumenical Movement in Asia engaged the sixty participants.

saspic x150A docudrama about Muslim-Christian Peacemaking, set in the midst of the conflict of the Fifth Crusade and narrated by Jeremy Irons. It centres on the remarkable encounter between St Francis of Assisi and the Sultan of Egypt, Malik al-Kamil.

Ruthann is the new Head of Fundraising for Act for Peace (AfP) and has been working in that role since June 2017. Ruthann and her team are responsible for raising the funds needed to support the Act for Peace programs around the world. This includes many different activities, including the mail and online appeals, and of course the Christmas Bowl which Ruthann and her team are busy planning for at this time of the year.

The World Council of Churches (WCC) has welcomed the signing of two ecumenical statements by the World Communion of Reformed Churches (WCRC) in which it seeks to overcome divisions of the past and to work with other Christian communions for unity and common witness.
