The importance, resilience and richness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander languages will be the focus of national celebrations marking NAIDOC (National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee) Week this year.

The Christian Conference of Asia (CCA) is holding this year's Asia Mission Conference (AMC) in Yangon, Myanmar from 11 to 17 October 2017. The CCA invites applications from young Christians belonging to it's member churches and ecumenical councils in Asia to serve as stewards for this conference.

Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 30 years old and the deadline for receiving applications is 10 July 2017.

Act for Peace

Ration Challenge 2017

Over 14,000 people took part in the Act for Peace Ration Challenge, eating the same rations as a Syrian refugee living in a camp in Jordan. With their courage and determination they have made quite a difference.

Disaster Recovery logo bdrx150The NSW Disaster Recovery Chaplaincy Network (DRCN) is conducting a two-day training seminar for ministers and faith community leaders in Murwillumbah on 25-26 July.

After the recent flooding event, Chaplains in the NSW Disaster Recovery Chaplaincy Network (DRCN) were heavily involved in the Lismore response and recovery process.They travelled into areas along the Tweed, working with the SES, Red Cross and Disaster Welfare Services. A shortage of locally trained chaplains in Murwillumbah, Kyogle and other areas along the Tweed was identified, and the need to train more chaplains from the Lismore/Casino area has been recognised.

saspic x150The Sultan and the Saint is a docudrama about Muslim-Christian Peacemaking, set in the midst of the conflict of the Fifth Crusade and narrated by Jeremy Irons. It centres on the historic meeting between St Francis of Assisi and the Sultan of Egypt, Malik al-Kamil. A remarkable encounter between two people committed to peace between their people.
