‘The Word became flesh and lived among us’ (John 1: 14).
What an extraordinary, breath-taking statement! God took on humanity – the same humanity that you and I share. The Gospel writer continues, ‘From his fullness, we have all received’ (John 1: 16). God shares our humanity and we share the Godhead.
Can you imagine the love and reverence with which the angel said Jesus’ name, when the angel spoke to Joseph?
“You are to name him Jesus for he will save his people from their sins.” (Matthew 1:21)
New General Secretary elected
We welcome Rev. Dr. Lee Hong-jung, the newly elected General Secretary of NCCK.
Rev. Dr. Lee is a member of the Presbyterian Church of Korea (PCK) and has served as the General Secretary of PCK. He was a former Executive Secretary for the Christian Council of Asia (CCA) and the Vice Chairman of the NCCK International Committee.

Pope Francis’ message for the 51st World Day of Peace has been released by the Vatican.
"Peace to all people and to all nations on earth! Peace, which the angels proclaimed to the shepherds on Christmas night,[1] is a profound aspiration for everyone, for each individual and all peoples, and especially for those who most keenly suffer its absence."
International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear weapons (ICAN)
Sunday 10 December.
This coming Sunday, ICAN will have the honour of receiving this prestigious award at the ceremony in Oslo, Norway.This celebration is an acknowledgement of the importance of the treaty to ban nuclear weapons.

For over 68 years, the Christmas Bowl has been a way for Christians to express the love of Christ to those in need around the globe, and affirm that every displaced or hungry person is worthy of empathy and compassion.
The Christmas Bowl appeal is a demonstration of unity for Christians in Australia. “Making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” (Ephesians 4:3).
Ecumenical Women’s Action against Violence (EWAAV)
Church women of Asia attended the Christian Conference of Asia (CCA) Consultation that was held in Colombo, Sri Lanka on 29-30 November.
Participants of the EWAAV consultation demand, “The Church in Sri Lanka should ensure zero tolerance to violence against women at all levels....".
Third Iranian Baha'i leader released in Tehran
We rejoice again with our friends of The Australian Baha’i Community in the news of the recent release of Mr Behrooz Tavakkoli.
Mr Tavakkoli was released from prison after completing his ten-year sentence. He is the third of the seven former Baha’i leaders in Iran to be released.
