Rev Dr Olav Fykse Tveit, World Council of Churches (WCC) General Secretary, has based his message of light and life on John's gospel:

All things came into being through him, and without him not one thing came into being. What has come into being in him was life, and the life was the light of all people. (John 1: 3-4)

2019 - 70th anniversary of the Christmas Bowl

Bringing peace to Sri Lankan refugees returning home

The prophet Isaiah told people who had lost their homeland and who had been through enormous suffering that they could live in peace and harmony again. He was considered radical for speaking of such miracles. But his message resonates with this year's Christmas Bowl, as we support Sri Lankan refugees to return home and build peaceful new lives after years of civil war.
