“May we have nothing left to confess. No enemies, friends everywhere. No unhealthy attachments."

This prayerful reflection by Bishop Philip Huggins is for sharing with our members and friends. We invite Churches and Congregations to hold an Ash Wednesday Vigil using this reflection. Next issue we will provide other resources prepared especially for these Lenten vigils.

"Our Ash Wednesday 2020 is amidst much greater awareness of climate change.
How might this influence our Ash Wednesday prayers and our Lenten Discipline?"....

Taking it to the Top

In November, Act for Peace joined with other humanitarian organisations and Australian Christians to meet with Australian politicians and advocate for commitment to the world’s displaced and underprivileged people through Micah Challenge’s Voices for Justice event.

230 Christians and visiting Pacific leaders at this event made a big impression on our government.

Mary Jane Veloso's traffickers have been convicted letmj

Many ecumenical organisations supported this ongoing campaign, asking the Supreme Court of the Philippines to allow Mary Jane to testify against her illegal recruiters. The NCCA also participated, adding to the many Letters of support for Mary Jane, which were sent to the Supreme Court of the Philippines and coordinated by The Interfaith Network for the Rights of Migrants (INFORM).

In a separate case, witnesses have proven the traffickers to be guilty of illegal recruitment.
